  Fantastic and friendly service, great car and couldn't have asked for more in a hire car service. Was great to be able to get about Cairns and the nearby areas. Much cheaper than the big hire car companies but every bit as good.

  If I could leave negative stars I would!! Had a booking for 5pm and arrived at 5.05 and they refused to give us the car we booked.
  
  No amount of pleading helped - even a minute late you will be left standing outside desperately ringing around trying to find last minute availability.
  
  Staff enjoyed a knockoff beer while we stood on the side of the road with our bags…

  Nice shuttle tracker via the Internet, close to the airport, and nice new cars.
  
  Unfortunately it took us 1.5 hours from the airport until we drove out with our car, as there were crowds inside and out. Some tempers were frayed, and the staff were doing their best to be helpful.
  
  Could do with some better organisation for collecting cars, and somewhere safe to stand whilst waiting. I presume they are short-staffed, and I'm guessing its worse during peak tourist season.

  I've used East Coast Car Rentals in Cairns before and I'd use them again. It was the first time I've rented a car since before the pandemic and I got quite a price shock but research told me that was basically industry wide and I still found them to be good value compared to others. We were a group of 4 mature adults on vacation and as we didn't need to carry luggage, I arranged a Corolla sized car for day tours around Cairns. I am quite tall and on arrival the staff member looked at me and arranged the largest car (a Corolla v a slightly smaller alternate make) in the category I had ordered. The car was 4 years old and despite having done over 90,000 km was still in good order. It handled well going up and down the steep winding roads into the Tablelands very well and my only criticism would be that the (I believe cheaper) non standard tyres were a bit noisier than I would have liked. Pick up and return was hassle free. I was staying at an apartment within walking distance but they do have a courtesy bus for pick up etc if needed. If vacationing in Cairns again, I'd certainly have them at the top of my list. The photo was at the entrance to a coffee plantation. Northern travel limits were sealed roads at the top of Cape Tribulation and as far as Cooktown

  Amazing service when you rent stress free option. But we got a Baleno instead of a Corolla. We don’t think this is equivalent so 4 starts
