  We stayed in their private ensuite room and perfectly happy with it. Clean. The balcony has nice views. They have fridge and kitchen where you can cook. Staff was helpful.

  Had a great at the global backpackers in Cairns. The rooms were decent and well cleaned at arrival. It was pretty quiet at night, the kitchen was well equiped and clean as well. Not a hostel for heavy drinkers and party people, which I highly appreciated.

  Fantastic location in the middle of town and with a great adjoining bar / restaurant. Has its own gym for guests to use! Awesome rooftop kitchen / social area. Also has nice quiet social areas inside which are great to work or read a book. Great laundry facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff.

  Really lovely clean and well run hostel! It was such a relief coming to Global from one of the large main hostels in the area. You can tell they really take care of the place and value cleanliness. I was in a 4 bed dorm and it was small, but reasonably spaced for the amount of people and price. There was an ensuite, aircon, and a fan in the room. The kitchen is located on the roof which features a really nice view of the water. Overall, very pleasant stay!

  Booked and paid for 4 beds in a 4 bed dorm, and received a confirmation email yesterday evening of this booking. Received an email today stating that my reservation had been cancelled due to the hostel being full, however there were still other spaces available to book through their website when I checked this morning (and still spaces showing now as I write this). Called and spoke to reception to query this - was told that yes there was actually space, but we would be in seperate rooms and switching rooms daily - no contact was made with me offering this as an option though, instead my booking was cancelled. Very disappointed in the service, and after stating the above, the person on the phone just said thanks and hung up, not giving us the chance to actually take those 4 beds in seperate rooms. Hugely disappointed by this
